VRSD was founded as the answer to a set of classic consumer questions – what spirit do I buy? What one is good value? What one tastes good? What one works well in my favourite cocktail? The idea was simple – to create a range of spirits across the board that consumers can trust to work perfectly in their favourite cocktail or mixed drink. And so VRSD was born.
Founders Varun and Jamie have nearly 20 years experience in the drinks trade, creating brands and marketing wines and spirits. At VRSD we have a strong set of values, which have been at the forefront of everything we do since day 1.
The Making of
Our 7 step development process ensures every spirit we craft is absolutely fit for purpose. We vow to leave no stone unturned, to be rigorous and precise when researching, testing and ultimately producing every bottle of VRSD.
We want our customers to have full visibility of our production process. From the suppliers we source ingredients from, to the mixologists we consult with and the producers we work with, we’ll make sure you have a clear view of the liquid that goes into your spirits.

No.1 London Dry Gin

About
Our inaugural product, a classic London Dry Gin, is highly textural and citrus led. We created VRSD No.1 Dry Gin with a brief to produce a gin which worked perfectly in a Negroni, while being smooth enough, and sufficiently textural to drink neat over ice. To achieve this we only take a small cut from the heart of the distillation, and bottle the gin at 40% abv, which we feel provides balance.
Tasting Note
Sipped neat, VRSD No. 1 Gin is citrus dominant, with orange oil and grapefruit zest leading juniper, blackcurrant leaf and a bitter, pithy note. Exceedingly well integrated alcohol and enviable viscosity lead to a very smooth mouthfeel.
With tonic, or ice, the gin opens up aromatically, revealing a sweet florality alongside the citrus, with notes of wild strawberry, elderflower, bergamot and coriander leaf.
Creates a negroni, (especially when made with VRSD No. 2 Rosso Vermouth) for the connoisseur – subtle, persistent, with great finesse, complexity and balance.
