Inspired by the rolling Surrey Hills, a true garden of England. Building upon the traditional gin base of juniper, English Garden Expression is a masterful blend of sweet peach and bright citrus with aromatic florals. Applying our unique Silent Pool Gin method of production, we have been able to create a gin which boasts a fresh floral aroma without the use of extracts or post-distillation infusions. Locally inspired ingredients such as lavender, rose, chamomile and summer stone fruits are the heroes of this gin, celebrating an idyllic English Garden.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE -A wonderful floral nose arise with peach and apricot summer fruits.
PALATE- Light, elegant and smooth with creamy peach marrying flawlessly with a vibrant and well balanced floral body. Lemon and a grapefruit bitterness pair with a subtle spice to provide complementary bass notes.
FINISH – Unmistakeable pine is provided by juniper whilst a tannic dryness arises form the jasmine green tea, contrasting the sweet peach notes.

In our quest to create the world’s most distinctive gin, we sought the rarest and purest juniper and found it in the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan. Our juniper only grows above 4000 metres in pristine mountain air and sunshine. It is sustainably collected by a resident team in the mountains who know exactly where this jewel of Bhutan can be found. Sipping Black Juniper Gin introduces you to the finest ingredients in the world in a complex but delicate layering of flavour to create a uniquely ethereal taste and aroma.
Tasting Notes
Appearance: Crystal-clear, Colourless
Nose: Clean and pronounced. Perfume and incense with a subtle smoke. Underpinned with pine-rich juniper and a warming spice.
Palate: Silky and pronounced mouth feel. Strong juniper graciously subsides into perfumed agarwood. A spiced pepper foundation is complemented by an amalgamation of distinctive teas with delicate caramel notes. A well-rounded profile sees each flavour complement the last in this impressively considered gin.
Finish: Long and complex, slightly smoky and perfumed finish. A beautiful celebration of classic dry gin and contemporary execution.

About Us
OUR STORY
The Brand Origins
Drawn by a common passion for craft distilling, in 2013 a group of friends came together to create a new kind of distillery, producing handcrafted, artisan spirits with uncompromising quality. In an extraordinary location on the Duke of Northumberland’s Albury Estate, a group of dilapidated farm buildings on the banks of the legendary & mystical Silent Pool has been transformed to become the home of the Silent Pool Distillers.
The Distillery
In keeping with the original vision for a sustainable business, a vintage wood-fired steam boiler was restored to power the hand-built copper still, created for Silent Pool Distillers by the Arnold Holstein Company in the Lake Constance area of Germany.
The distillery was completed with the arrival of the bespoke stainless steel tanking, sourced from the Vipara Valley in Slovenia.
Locally Sourced Ingredients
They sourced local ingredients, exotic botanicals, and experimented with all kinds of recipes – sometimes failing, forever seeking, but always refusing to compromise on quality.
Until finally, they created a gin of rare taste and beauty using over 20 botanicals in the distillation process and christening Silent Pool Gin after its place of birth. It’s popularity quickly spread from the local community to now amassing an enviable reputation across the world, winning an abundance of prestigious industry awards.
Silent Pool Gin
The first of the series, released in 2015. Silent Pool Gin captures the very essence of the Silent Pool and the surrounding Surrey Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty where the distillery is based.
The location of our distillery is full of ingredients our expert Distillers used in the intricate recipe development process, allowing us to sustainably source the signature botanicals in our luxury English Gin. From Chamomile and Elderflower that grows in abundance around the Silent Pool to the roses and lavender that line our local village, Albury.
Symphony of Flavour
Silent Pool Gin is classic gin at heart featuring over 24 botanicals. Full-bodied and fresh with depth, clarity and above all else, flavour. It’s a rich, clean, juniper-driven spirit with floral layers of lavender and chamomile.
Fresh notes of citrus and kaffir lime are grounded with the subtle sweetness of local honey, creating a well-balanced gin that’s both traditional and refreshingly individual. Its inspiration is taken from the Silent Pool, an ancient spring nestled in the heart of the Surrey Hills that boasts crystal-clear water fed from a chalk aquifer. Its beauty inspired the bottle design and liquid within.
A Mosaic Approach
How do we create a gin with such harmony in its complex flavours? A rather mosaic approach. It begins with a Maceration, where rich oils from our base botanicals provide the backbone of the gin.
Next, Basket Infusion. Where brighter aromatics are steam distilled providing the top notes. Next, our special Tea Infusion (what else would you expect from an English gin brand?). Delicate floral notes are soaked in a giant tea bag before being added to the still.
Finally, everything is distilled together with a good helping of honey from our neighbouring beehive on the Albury Estate, added directly to the still.
The Pool Bar

The Pool Bar is situated on our sunny terrace overlooking the Silent Pool itself.
It’s a unique, secluded destination in which to relax, unwind and catch up with friends. Immerse yourself in the stunning view as you enjoy Silent Pool Gin G&Ts and a range of our signature cocktails at the distillery where our gin (you can’t get more local than that!). We also serve craft beers from Dorking Brewery and bar snacks.
