Our Story
The Palmers heritage takes us back to Old Street, London, 1805.
A year of great celebrations – the opening of London Docks, victory at the Battle of Trafalgar and the birth of the Palmer family business founded by William Henry Palmer.
From humble beginnings as varnish makers, the business soon grew under the direction of William’s future-gazing son Walter who expanded into alcohol production and paved the way for gin production.
Now a Palmer wouldn’t be a Palmer if they weren’t entrepreneurial at heart, and William’s great-grand daughter Angela, along with her husband, sparked the voyage into gin creation.

Our Production & Stills
Angela (our still) was built in 1903 and is one of seven copper stills at our Langley Distillery, all of which are named after instrumental women in the company’s history.
Palmers gin is a modern classic. Created from an original 300 year old recipe, the Palmer family added a contemporary twist – introducing grapefruit peel to compliment the pine and earth tones from the juniper and angelica botanicals.
Hand crafted in small batches, our gin is lovingly overseen by our distillers and family members, ensuring an uncompromising quality.
Our dedicated team know the exact point at which this antique still will begin producing the ‘heart of the spirit’ during distillation and carefully ensure that only the best vapours are turned into Palmers London Dry Gin, with a passion inherited from Angela.

Tasting notes:
Nose: Juniper in abundance blends with coriander seed, which hints a subtle dryness that is complimented by an edge of sweetness from orris root
Palate: spice and citrus notes follow from the cassia bark and grapefruit; the juniper lingers into the earth tones of angelica and coriander’s dryness finishing further with citrus tones
Finish: clean, fresh and lightly balanced with pleasant citrus & dry notes in the background

A stunning one shot blend of 15 botanicals that have infused overnight to produce a unique gin.
Early notes of juniper and coriander end up mingling with your taste buds leading to a mixture of herbs and spices with just a subtle hint of dryness.
Sumptuous fresh and floral crispness coming from lily bulb and iris roots completes a subtle and smooth lingering finish.

The Palmers secret is our distinctive blend of seven carefully selected botanicals – a covert recipe kept close to the heart and safe by Angela’s son Adam and granddaughter Natalie.
Each botanical is expertly weighed out by hand and placed, in a specific order, into our aptly-named still ‘Angela’ along with water and British wheat spirit.
Our mix of juniper berries, coriander seeds, cassia bark, liquorice root, angelica root, orris root and grapefruit are left to infuse overnight before being gently warmed to allow the botanicals to release their essential oils.
During distillation our still Angela – a spirited lady – is nurtured to ensure only the heart of the spirit goes into Palmers gin.
Our resulting gin is pure grace, full in flavour, dry with a wonderful grapefruit curl that leaves you wanting more.
