Highclere Amazing Castle Gin is a unique and special gin that is inspired by the famous Highclere Castle in England. Highclere Castle is a historic estate that has been the home of the Carnarvon family for over 300 years. The castle is known for its stunning architecture, beautiful gardens, and rich history. Highclere Castle Gin is made using botanicals from the castle’s gardens, giving it a truly authentic and luxurious flavor.

One of the things that sets Highclere Castle Gin apart from other gins is its connection to the history and heritage of the castle. The gin is crafted using botanicals that have been grown on the estate for generations, including lavender, orange peel, and juniper. This gives the gin a unique and sophisticated flavor profile that is unlike any other. It is a tribute to the rich history and traditions of Highclere Castle.

Another reason why Highclere Castle Gin stands out is its superior quality and craftsmanship. The gin is distilled in small batches using traditional copper pot stills, which allows for greater control over the distillation process. This results in a smooth and balanced gin that is perfect for sipping neat or mixing in cocktails. The attention to detail and craftsmanship that goes into making Highclere Castle Gin is evident in every sip.

Highclere Castle Gin is also a versatile spirit that can be enjoyed in a variety of ways. It can be enjoyed neat or on the rocks for a simple and elegant experience, or mixed in cocktails for a more complex and flavorful drink. The botanicals used in the gin give it a refreshing and aromatic quality that pairs well with a wide range of mixers and garnishes. Whether you prefer a classic G&T or a more adventurous cocktail, Highclere Castle Gin is the perfect base spirit.

In conclusion, Highclere Castle Gin is a truly special and unique gin that pays homage to the history and heritage of the famous English castle. Its connection to the estate’s gardens and the use of traditional distillation methods make it a superior spirit that stands out in the crowded gin market. Whether you are a history buff, a gin connoisseur, or simply someone who appreciates quality spirits, Highclere Castle Gin is sure to impress. So raise a glass and toast to the elegance and sophistication of Highclere Castle Gin.

“We sometimes think the world’s problems are so big that we can do little to help. On our own, we cannot end wars or wipe out injustice, but the cumulative impact of thousands of small acts of goodness can be bigger than we imagine.” -Her Late Majesty The Queen, our Patron

The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust (QCT) launched on April 21st, 2018, in recognition of Her Late Majesty The Queen’s lifetime of service to others and her love for the Commonwealth and its young people. We put young Commonwealth leaders at the centre of everything we do, and provide their organisations with flexible funding, practical tools and support, and a vibrant network to help them transform their communities, across the areas of agriculture & food, education & employability, environment, health, and inclusion.

Less than 0.1% of international aid goes to leaders like them, the ones most affected by the challenges and with solutions that work. Their collective potential is enormous. With your support, we can unlock it.

The first written records of the estate date back to 749 AD when an Anglo-Saxon King granted the estate to the Bishops of Winchester. Bishop William of Wykeham built a beautiful medieval palace and gardens in the park. Later on, in 1679, the palace was rebuilt as Highclere Place House when it was purchased by Sir Robert Sawyer, the direct ancestor of the current Earl of Carnarvon. In 1842, Sir Charles Barry, who also designed the Houses of Parliament, transformed Highclere House into the present day Highclere Castle.

During the First World War, Highclere Castle was converted into a hospital for wounded soldiers run by the 5th Countess of Carnarvon. Then, in the Second World War, Highclere Castle was home to children evacuated from London.

There are between 250 and 300 rooms in the Castle Saloon and during your tour you will explore the main state rooms so familiar from “Downtown Abbey”. You will see some of the bedrooms after which you will follow the stairs down to the cellars and old staff quarters where you will find the Egyptian Exhibition, celebrating the 5th Earl of Carnarvon’s discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun.

WHERE CAN I WALK

Highclere Castle sits within an arcadian parkland designed by Capability Brown in 1771.

There are six remaining 18th century follies framing views from which to admire the landscape.  For example, Jackdaw’s Castle on the East lawns provides a charming view to the Castle, the Etruscan Temple is a place in which to sit and admire the trees on Siddown Hill, whilst the Temple of Diana looks over the lake.

The parkland and gardens are framed by a collection of magnificent cedar trees, first imported into this country in the 18th century.

Archaeological and landscape investigations have shown that there is an Iron Age fort on Beacon Hill and a number of Bronze Age tumuli, ancient trackways, lynchets and field systems within the estate.
