Haddington
Haddington is a town in East Lothian, Scotland. It is the capital of the Scottish county and council area of East Lothian approximately 20 miles east of Edinburgh. Haddington has 10,360 inhabitants. St Mary’s Church is the fourteenth-century parish church of the Church of Scotland.
The name Haddington is Anglo-Saxon and dates from the sixth or seventh century AD when the area was incorporated into the kingdom of Bernicia. The town, like the rest of the Lothian region, was ceded by King Edgar of England and became part of Scotland in the tenth century. Haddington was granted burgh status, one of the first to do so, during the reign of David I (1124-1153), giving it trading rights that encouraged its growth into a market town. During the High Middle Ages, Haddington was the fourth largest city in Scotland (after Aberdeen, Roxburgh and Edinburgh).
North Berwick
North Berwick is a royal burgh and port town in the Scottish administrative region of East Lothian, located on the North Sea and south of the Firth of Forth. Off the coast there are some islands such as the Bass Rock bird sanctuary. North Berwick certainly had a harbor in the 12th century.
NB Distillery East Lothian

We distilled, refined and distilled again over hundreds of batches and thousands of hours – before finally we created the gin we believed was ‘perfect’. A gin worthy of putting our name to – NB, our home town of North Berwick. Having perfected our recipe, we invested in a custom-built still called ‘Gloria’, made to our exact specifications by the world’s oldest and most revered still-makers. A still that would be able to precisely replicate our tried and tested recipe. We then moved out of our kitchen and into a small unit in North Berwick to continue distilling our products.
Within just two years, our gin had won many admirers from near and far and in 2015 it was voted the Best London Dry Gin in the world. We achieved what we originally set out to do: to create ‘perfection’ that’s recognised globally.
NB London Dry Gin
THE ORIGINAL, CLASSIC GIN
Our original NB Gin is a pure, clear, uncompromised grain spirit, the result of an exacting process that has been perfected and bottled to become recognised as the Best London Dry Gin in the world, at the world drinks awards in 2015. And now that it is the best, it will stay this way. We continue to use only the finest of 8 botanicals and remain true to our perfected London Dry process. That way, NB Gin will always be ‘perfect’.
NB Gin was selected by the Royal Family on two monumental occasions. It has been recognised by Rolls Royce as one of their “Top 100 Luxury Brands”, selected for The Open Afterparty in 2018 and served at the Sony Afterparty at the Brit Awards for three consecutive years. These are just some of our amazing success stories!

TASTING NOTES
The Botanicals: Juniper, coriander seed, angelica root, grains of paradise, lemon peel, cassia bark, cardamom and orris root.
The Nose: An exquisite nose revealing an initial hit of Juniper with a touch of earthiness. Subtle citrus notes follow with a fabulous freshness.
The Palate: Clean, fresh and with a wonderfully smooth texture. This expertly balanced gin tastes very much like it noses: juniper-led, dry and with citrus hints. The botanicals are revealed with remarkable clarity. Juniper invites you in, followed by a burst of clean citrus, then warm earthy notes and a dash of white pepper, before the final flourish of juniper.
The Finish: A long finish with all of the botanicals present for one final encore.
Try It: As you would enjoy the perfect G&T. We like ours with tonic, a slice of pink grapefruit, a basil leaf and ice, and of course, lots of friends! Great for sipping, try it neat or over ice or use as the ‘perfect’ partner in any cocktail.

NB Gin gets in the picture at Royal Wedding
May 15, 2018 by Terry Murden
North Berwick distiller NB Gin is celebrating its own little part in the Royal wedding.
It has been selected to feature in the Harry and Meghan Wedding Album, written by royal correspondent, Robert Jobson.
The 300-page album, set to be released by publisher St James’s House following the wedding on Saturday, will feature photography from throughout the royal couple’s lives, from their early years, their engagement and images from the wedding day itself.
NB Gin was chosen due to its ‘editorial fit’ for the celebratory publication.
It is the second time it has been selected for a royal occasion after previously featuring in the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations.
The association with the royal wedding comes at an exciting time as the company continues its expansion around the world. The forthcoming launch of a new rum expression made using a retort still and British molasses will also see the company enter a new chapter.
Founder Vivienne Muir said: “It’s a great honour for us to be given the royal seal of approval and to be approached by St James’s House for a second time to participate in such an occasion.
“The association with the royal wedding is a huge privilege, particularly given our recent launch into the US with it being Meghan’s home country. It really is the perfect timing for the whole world to be watching this stage in our journey, and we are delighted to be involved.”
Richard Freed, CEO of St James’s House, said: “The royal wedding will be celebrated by a worldwide audience and we at St James’s House will be celebrating a high-quality book that will serve as a treasured keepsake for years to come.”
