Our story
In 2011, our founders opened Kent’s first gin distillery in 200 years, creating delicious award-winning spirits in our beloved 300-litre copper pot still, Patience.
Andy and Norman’s love of whisky later led to Anno releasing Kent’s first in a successful collaboration with Westerham Brewery.
When COVID arrived, we quickly worked to start production of hand sanitiser, providing essential supplies to the front line.
Then in late 2020 we had perhaps our most amazing achievement to date, with the release of Anno Extreme 95, the strongest gin in the world today.

Anno Extreme 95 Gin
Anno Extreme 95 Gin packs more punch and flavour, drop for drop, than any other spirit in the world. Being the world’s strongest gin – just a 5ml measure gives you a full flavoured G&T with 75% less alcohol than a 50ml measure of 40% ABV gin.

We use a specially selected blend of different aromatic Kentish hops. Kent has been famous for growing hops for English beer for centuries and has remained the largest producer of hops in England until as recently as 2003. Unlike the bitterness imparted in beer production, aromatic hops when distilled for our gin have a pleasant, sweet flavour, which lingers in your mouth.

A fresh, citrus-forward gin infused with blueberries and strawberries and a touch of alchemy gives us a crisp, fruity gin with a hint of nostalgia.
Science meets nature in this magic gin that changes from blue to pink when you add a slice of citrus, tonic or lemonade. The flowers we infuse with the gin act as a natural pH indicator, changing colour due to the acidity of the citrus or mixer! With natural blueberry and strawberry flavours.

These bluish purple berries are the basis and therefore the signature of all gins, and the prominent flavour in traditional gins. Although it has a berry-like appearance due to its fleshy skin, the juniper berry is not actually a true berry but a female seed cone from a conifer. Juniper berries have a strong and assertive pine flavour; the flavour is mostly woody, but it can have some slightly citrus and floral tones to it.

Distillery Blending Experience
The blending experience begins with a tutored introduction to gin, its history and an informal chat about the processes involved in distillation. This leads to sampling flavours before selecting your favourites from our carboys to blend until finalising your unique, personalised 70cl bottle to take home.
Enjoy a generous G&T made from the blend, before the bottle is filled and sealed. We also present you with a generous goodie bag and certificate and keep your recipe at the distillery should you wish to reorder it from us in the future.
Discounts are included against 70cl bottles or extra bottles of the blend purchased during the visit (payment by card is preferred). The experience will last approximately two and a half hours.

Enjoy an Anno G&T whilst being taken through the history of our Marden distillery and meet our beautiful copper-pot still, Patience. After the tour, tantalise the taste buds and discover your inner gin connoisseur, sampling different gins in a number of ways to awaken the senses and attune the palate to fully appreciate the joys of artisan gin.
