Rob Cross is er zondagavond niet in geslaagd om voor de tweede keer in zijn carrière een toernooi van de European Tour te winnen. ‘Voltage’ verloor in de finale van het Belgium Darts Open met 8-7 van Luke Littler.
Cross had zich nochtans weinig te verwijten, zo haalde hij in de finale zelfs een ruim hoger gemiddelde (108.00) dan Littler (103.76). Maar dat volstond dus niet voor de eindzege. “Ik wilde dit weekend sterk presteren en dat heb ik ook gedaan”, zegt de 33-jarige Engelsman, die vorig jaar met de European Darts Grand Prix zijn eerste toernooi van de European Tour won.
Rob Cross failed to win a European Tour tournament for the second time in his career on Sunday evening. ‘Voltage’ lost 8-7 to Luke Littler in the final of the Belgium Darts Open. However, Cross had little to blame, he even achieved a much higher average (108.00) than Littler (103.76) in the final. But that was not enough for the final victory. “I wanted to perform strongly this weekend and that’s what I did,” said the 33-year-old Englishman, who won his first tournament on the European Tour last year with the European Darts Grand Prix.
