Jahrgang 2016, 7 Jahre “First Fill” in einem ex Littlemill Whiskyfass gereift
Aroma: Trockenes Holz, Tonkabohneneis. Neben der typischen Wacholdernote ist zunächst die bei der Stärke zu erwartende deutliche, aber angenehme Alkoholnote spürbar, aber auch die Lagerung wird durch Vanille und eine leichte
Holzwürze erkennbar. Dominant in der Nase sind Aromen von frischer Zitronenzeste, und Zitronat, mal an italienischen Limoncello oder Limette erinnernd. Daneben finden sich ätherische Öle wie von frischen Tannennadeln, bevor der Eindruck von Waldmeisterbrause die Nase durchflutet.
Vintage 2016, matured for 7 years “First Fill” in an ex Littlemill whiskey barrel Aroma: Dry wood, tonka bean ice cream. In addition to the typical juniper note, the clear but pleasant alcohol note that is to be expected from the strength is initially noticeable, but the storage is also noticeable through vanilla and a slight woody spice. Dominating on the nose are aromas of fresh lemon zest and citron peel, sometimes reminiscent of Italian limoncello or lime. There are also essential oils such as fresh pine needles, before the impression of woodruff effervescence floods the nose.
Geschmack: Im Geschmack findet sich zunächst das bereits in der Nase vorhandene Zitrusaroma, gefolgt von einer fast salzigen Note und etwas grüner Pfeffer. Es folgt ein Hauch Süßholz, aber auch frisch geschnittenes Holz und wieder der frische und spritzige
Eindruck von Brausepulver.
Später kann man Latschenkieferbonbons, Lemon Curd und eine dezente Vanillesüße herausschmecken, gefolgt von dezentem Honig und grünem Waldmeisterwackelpudding.
Im Abgang sehr lang und intensiv mit deutlichen Aromen von Zitrus und einer feinen
Eichenwürze. Das Whisky Fass hat hier bereits einige Aromen an den Gin abgegeben,
aber der von den Zitrusnoten geprägte Grundcharakter ist dennoch sehr deutlich.

Taste: The first taste is the citrus aroma already present on the nose, followed by an almost salty note and some green pepper. This is followed by a hint of licorice, but also freshly cut wood and again the fresh and tangy Impression of effervescent powder. Later you can taste mountain pine sweets, lemon curd and a subtle vanilla sweetness, followed by subtle honey and green woodruff jelly pudding. The finish is very long and intense with clear aromas of citrus and a fine Oak spice.

Tasting Notes:
In this gin, aromas of citrus peel are found first, followed by an almost salty note and a hint of green pepper. A taste of liquorice and fresh wood follows, as well as the fresh and sparkling impression of sherbet powder. Later notes of mountain pine sweets, lemon curd, subtle vanilla sweetness, subtle honey and green woodruff jelly become recognizable. In the finish, the taste is very long and intense, with clear citrus notes and a fine oak spice. Although the cask has already given off some of the aromas of the whisky, the basic character of this gin, which is characterized by citrus notes, remains clearly noticeable.
